چکیده

Abstract The monitoring of food contaminants is interests to both regulatory bodies and the consumers. This literature review covers polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with regard their background, sources exposures, occurrence in environment as well health hazards. Furthermore, analytical methods focusing on analysis PAHs tea, coffee, milk, alcoholic samples for last 16 years are presented. Numerous experimental have been developed aiming obtain better limits detections (LODs) percent recoveries reduce solvent consumption laborious work. These include information such selected analyzed, matrix PAHs, extraction, cleanup procedure, LOD, quantitation (LOQ), recovery. For samples, a majority research papers focused US Environmental Protection Agency while PAH4, PAH8, methylated were also interests. Extraction range from classic Soxhlet extraction liquid–liquid newer QuEChERS, dispersive solid-phase microextraction, magnetic extraction. involved mainly use column chromatography SPE filled either silica or Florisil adsorbents. Gas liquid coupled mass spectrometry fluorescence detectors main instruments used. A combined used able achieve LODs ranges 0.01–5 ug/kg 70–110%, respectively, samples.

Biodegradation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are a class of potentially hazardous chemicals of environmental and health concern. PAHs are one of the most prevalent groups of contaminants found in soil. Biodegradation of complex hydrocarbon usually requires the cooperation of more than single specie. In this research biotreatment of PAH (phenanthrene) was studied in a solid-phase reactor using indigenou...

Biodegradation aspects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs): a review.

PAHs are aromatic hydrocarbons with two or more fused benzene rings with natural as well as anthropogenic sources. They are widely distributed environmental contaminants that have detrimental biological effects, toxicity, mutagenecity and carcinogenicity. Due to their ubiquitous occurrence, recalcitrance, bioaccumulation potential and carcinogenic activity, the PAHs have gathered significant en...

POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS (PAHs) IN FINE AND COARSE PARTICLES

About 140 samplings of fine and coarse particles were gathered during the year 2006 in Kozani that represent an urban area surrounded by opencast coal mining. A low volume dichotomus sampler has been used to trap suspended particles. The filters used were teflon, which are ideal for analysis in the determination of PAHs. The determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) has been carr...

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in livers of California sea otters.

Concentrations of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were measured in livers of 81 adult female sea otters collected along the California coast in 1992-2002. Concentrations of summation operatorPAHs in livers of sea otters were in the range of 588-17400ng/g lipid wt (mean: 3880ng/g, lipid wt). On a wet weight basis, the concentrations ranged from 17 to 1430ng/g (mean: 146ng/g). Overall,...

Seasonal variation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) emissions in China.

A regression model based on the provincial energy consumption data was developed to calculate the monthly proportions of residential energy consumption compared to the total year volume. This model was also validated by comparing with some survey and statistical data. With this model, a PAHs emission inventory with seasonal variation was developed. The seasonal variations of different sources i...
